Ryan is a genuine all-rounder of the highest calibre. He was a member of the England squad for the 2014 Under 19 World Cup. In the same year, he made his List A and T20 debuts for Middlesex and his First Class debut came in 2017. At the completion of the 2017, season Ryan moved to Gloucestershire to further his career and has taken the domestic game by storm since then. Highlights include taking 48 wickets in the 2018 season and following that with 50 wickets and 958 runs in the 2019 season to earn a nomination as the PCA First Class player of the year.
Throughout his career Ryan has constantly searched for something outside of cricket that he enjoys as much as cricket. Whilst he is still searching, he has found studies in sport and business management through the last four years extremely rewarding and he hopes to continue studying and gaining experience in a field away from the game once he has completed that degree this year. He is passionate about running when he’s not playing cricket, it’s a form of escape away from the game which he thoroughly enjoys and hopes to continue to challenge himself through running in the next few years. He continues to look forward to the next few years of cricket with excitement as he continues to develop within the sport to make the most of what is a very short but rewarding career.
