An exciting fast medium left arm bowler, Matt developed his talents in Gloucestershire’s academy. In 2011, he played two List A matches at the Cheltenham Festival while still at school. He then went on to make his first-class debut at the end of the 2013 season and, during 2014, he was given more opportunities in the Championship, playing nine games and taking 21 wickets at 43.09.

Having missed most of the 2015 season through injury, Matt had a good T20 Blast campaign in 2016 his form was recognised in the way of Gloucestershire’s Young Player of the Year award in 2016 and selection for the England Pace Programme.

Subsequent seasons have seen him establish himself as a key member of Gloucestershire’s attack in all formats of the game.
