Luis is an accomplished all rounder who regularly bats in the top order and bowls key overs with his left arm seamers.. He joined the Lancashire Academy in 2008 and progressed with them, opening the innings for Lancashire in the Championship in 2013, averaging more than 55 and being named as the county’s Young Player of the Year. Luis moved to Derbyshire at the end of the 2016 season and has proved himself a consistent performer with bat and ball, capable of game-changing bursts of form.
Adept in T20 as well as Championship Cricket, Luis was drafted by the Chittagong Kings in the 2017 BPL and then the Dhaka Platoon in the 2019–20 BPL.

Off the field Luis has a passion for fitness and the psychology of coaching. He studied sports performance and excellence at Leeds University and has got a diploma in psychology. He finds these both translate very well to cricket and he has used his coaching to gain coaching badges and coaches Adults and Juniors in Perth, Western Australia, where he spends his UK winters.

He also thoroughly enjoys golf and playing with friends and family is a great way to wind down and change focus. He has also recently tried his hand at modelling after being scouted last year.

Mental health is a cause that is important to Luis and he has worked with a variety of charities or as a guest speaker to champion the cause and give back to the community – something he hopes to do more of in the future.
Luis has recently had a four legged addition to the family, a springer spaniel named Dodger.
