Jonny, the 28 year old Yorkshire born wicketkeeper, is a key example of the importance of hard work. He was released by Yorkshire in 2015 but kept his head high as he trained consistently at his local club. This led to him trialling with Derbyshire and playing minor counties for Lincolnshire.
He then impressed for Yorkshire’s 2nd XI, earning a summer contract in 2017. Jonny decided to take up wicketkeeping to strengthen his claims on a playing spot. Tattersall was unsurprisingly named by Ottis Gibson as the new club captain due to his resilience and team leading skills.
Tattersall made his first-class and T20 debuts in 2018 scoring a maiden first-class ton against Leeds/Bradford MCCU in 2019 and averaged 44.16 in the Bob Willis Trophy the following year.
