Jack Hombsch is a versatile defender who can play on a variety of different opponents. Now at Gold Coast Hombsch will be looking to add leadership and experience to the Suns backline.


Jack grew up in country SA playing his junior football for Roxby Downs before moving to Rostrevor College in Adelaide.

Hombsch was selected by the GWS Giants as an underage recruit and played 9 games in their inaugural season. The following year Jack was traded to the Port Adelaide Football Club where he would go on to play 89 games across 5 seasons. Following the 2018 season Jack was traded to Gold Coast Suns to give their young list some much needed leadership and experience.

Off the field Jack is a passionate surfer which suits his Gold Coast lifestyle.

Jack does a power of work in South Australia helping children with disabilities which has seen him be rewarded with the Jim Stynes medal for community service in 2017.


Jack has won this award for the work he has committed to through Inclusive Sport SA, Bedford and Kickstart for Kids. Hombsch acts as an ambassador for bodies dedicated to engaging those living with intellectual disabilities.
