TGI Sport was contracted to design and manufacture a custom cube to be installed at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Athens, Greece. Due to the unique stadium design and the limited time available before the first home game of the season, this sometimes felt like mission impossible.
TGI Sport designed, measured, obtained the permits for the structural engineering, obtained the permits from the Ministry of Sports, since the stadium is public property, laid all the cables, installed the cube, connected it to the new control room – and all this in 64 days, while the Olympiacos team used the stadium for training sessions most of the time.
Moving forward, TGI Sport will continue to provide the best solutions to the club in order to increase the revenue streams as well as upgrade the matchday experience for the fans.
The result is an impressive cube that can display different content in each element. From live match coverage to live statistics, player presentations, 3D graphics, replay content created by TGI Sport staff in the control room during the match, competitions, etc.
Media, fans and the club were delighted with the dimensions, functionality, build quality and image quality, enhancing the overall matchday experience. The control room built by TGI Sport is now responsible for the entire matchday experience, managing the content on the cube and perimeter system, the sound and the animations that take place before and during the match.
