World Cup
2019

TGI Sport has been involved in cricket since the year 2000. We have seen 5 ICC CWCs around the world providing a variety of technology services and equipment.

Brief

TGI Sport was awarded the full 360-degree LED perimeter and LED sightscreen rental for 58 matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 at 11 cricket grounds in England and Wales in May, June and July 2019. As there are no permanent LED perimeters at any of the venues, project included procurement and management of 3000m of LED panels with a number of installations, transport between venues, match day operations, technical support and content creation and management.

Execution

  • LED signage provision for 10 warmup matches and 48 matches within 58 days
  • Project management for equipment, software, content
  • Match day operations and technical support
  • Logistics for 11 venues and 6 sets of equipment
  • Sight screen management for pitch rotations
  • Manage the entire LED signage programme, including perimeter signage and sightscreen advertising including delivery, installation, production, maintenance, cleaning, removal and alterations
  • Create LED content for ICC and commercial partners where required
  • Manage creative content across different venues and systems ensuring approved changes disseminated as soon as possible
  • Provide a content management and approval portal for use by commercial clients
  • Provide qualified staff for all aspects of LED signage provision, operations and management
  • Manage storage, transport as per agreed timeline
  • Adhere to a production and installation schedule pre-agreed with the ICC

The End Result

In almost 20 years of cooperation with the ICC until 2019, TGI Sport had already built a long relationship with both the England and Wales Cricket Board, and the International Cricket Council. The importance of a tournament held in historical cricket grounds, the variable weather conditions and the need to keep the games going, helped in the decision for TGI to be the business partner for LED perimeter systems and all in-stadia screens.

From mid-May 2019 until the final on July 14th, our UK team focused 100% on the CWC and helped creating an unforgettable experience crowned by England winning the Cup for the first time in history.

Testimonials

That Final was just the culmination of an incredible amount of work that went into what will be remembered as one of the greatest CWC’s in ICC’s history. I would like to say thank you very much for the work you and your team put into each and every one of those 58 (and some) days. Your operators as well as your technicians were exceptional and professional to work with. They handled themselves well in all encounters with CWC19 and Venues. There were (and will always be) challenges but I feel we worked through them in the most efficient way possible. Look forward to working with you again soon.
